Jack J Valenti, The school of Communications at the University of Houston. What is it? When Was it founded. Where is it? What do people think about it? And who is Jack Valenti?

The Jack J Valenti school of communication is the communications school at the University of Houston. Founded in 1977 the school has been in operation for 44 consecutive years and has over seen the educational advancement in the field of communication to tens of thousands of students. Located on the north end of the campus, The Jack J Valenti building has stood since the schools founding. Students of the Jack J Valenti school of communication are as diverse as they come. Students of all ages, backgrounds, cultures, and genders can be found making it one of the most Diverse schools at the University of Houston.

In order to gage public opinion about the school. I asked several students at the Jack J Valenti Courtyard within the building about their thoughts on the school, the classes they are taking, the faculty, and the building as a whole.

Zemarah Hernandez, A junior at the college said that "I think the school is nice, The people I've met are always nice, both students and professors. The classes are also pretty varied and it feels like your always learning something new."

Gage (last name not given) A senior at the school said "My professors are all good. Most of my classes are pretty easy. Overall I think its alright"

Public opinion of the school among students seems to be mostly positive in nature. Finally who is Jack J Valenti the schools namesake.

Jack J Valenti was a man of many accomplishments. A decorated war veteran. A high ranking political advisor to President Lyndon B Johnson. And the then sitting president for 38 years from 1966 to 2004 of the MPAA "Motion Picture Association of America". Jack was Born on Sept 5, 1921. He actually attended the University of Houston and became an Alumni of the school. Additionally he attended Harvard. Jack was a strong Communicator of those who listened to and heard him speak. The general consensus around him is that he was Incredibly charismatic and spoke with both strength and confidence. Perhaps that, and his alumni status with the university of Houston is why his namesake is attached to the Houston School of Communication. Jack J Valenti leaves a name sake for the school with a rich and varied history.
