Spring Semester is fast approaching. Jack J Valenti Advising.

Its semester planning time at the University of Houston! With the spring 2022 semester right around the corner Students all across the University of Houston and the the Jack J. Valenti school of Communications are being advised to meet with their advisors as soon as possible to schedule and get ready for this upcoming semester. Although scheduling has been open with Jack J. Valenti school advisors for over a month, students can schedule a remote time appointment through navigate, or opt to attend a walk in appointment on Wednesday mornings from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.


I asked some students if they had gotten the chance to meet with their Jack J. Valenti advisors and if they have had the chance to plan out their upcoming semester. As well as if they choose the remote option or took advantage of the walk in opportunity.

Jonathan, a student at the Jack J. Valenti school was able to meet with his advisor and plan his schedule the first week when the option became available through navigate. "I wanted to get it over with and not wait till the last minute." He said. For that reason he took advantage of the openings and managed to get all the classes he wanted already filled in his cart as of last week. Which is when classes opened to be added to students carts. The early bird gets the worm, right?

Darren, another student also attending the Jack J. Valenti school who i spoke to told me that he had not yet met with his advisor and simply added the classes he wanted to take on his own based on what the University of Houston's student portal said he needed. He stated, "I just went and added what I needed on my own, ill go to a walk in probably and check and make sure it's all good tho."

As we see students are filler their carts with next semesters classes and have been going to or planning to go to an advising appointment with their Jack J. Valenti advisors soon. The next semester is fast approaching!
